About Open Sky Mental Health
Open Sky Mental Health is a a place where you can find stillness and a gentle approach to sorting through the challenges of life.
Founded in 2021 in my hometown of Leduc, Open Sky Mental Health offers a range of compassion-focused mental health supports.
Open Sky Mental Health, alongside Connelly Counselling, provides skillful support and interventions to people dealing with issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, emotion regulation, bereavement and grief, stress, relationship challenges and conflict.
We strive to offer the right intervention at the right time when life is difficult. We work with you to achieve your goals and relive suffering.
We are able to provide family support through our group practice. If you and a family member both need individual counselling, we can often arrange for you to be seen at the same time.
About Me
Leanne Floden, M.Ed, M.A.
Registered Psychologist
Canadian Certified Counsellor
I am trained in EMDR, mindfulness-based psychotherapy, contemplative psychotherapy, mindful self-compassion, and suicide Intervention. I work with an embodied approach to mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I have been a dedicated meditator for over 20 years, working with my own experience of how challenging it can be to encounter the complex inner workings of this human life. In 2016 I completed Mindful-Self Compassion training with Chris Germer and began the process of moving towards a career in therapy. My purpose is to help people come into a more gentle, compassionate relationship with themselves as a means of managing the varied challenges of living. I completed my MA in Counselling Psychotherapy at Yorkville University in 2021.
